Back in November at the ABC Annual Conference I had the opportunity of meeting Sylvia Weinstock and listening to her speak about her cakes and weddings and things that were just her passion. I learned alot from her that day. She’s a funny, very smart, and very talented woman. One thing she said really caught me and I’ll be implmenting this in the reminder of my weddings:
After the ceremony have the bride and groom ONLY announced and have them go into their first dance, then straight from the first dance have them cut the cake.
Usually I have the bride and groom cut the cake AFTER dinner but then this really does put a little stress on the catering staff to hurry and get it done, where as if the cake is cut BEFORE dinner it can be served immediately.
Just food for thought… 🙂
